Tax Day Count is a privacy-focused travel and residency tracking tool designed to help users monitor physical presence in countries for personal record-keeping purposes.

The App uses Apple location services to help users maintain travel history evidence and rolling day-count calculations, including 183-day tracking periods commonly relevant to residency analysis.

The App is intended solely as an informational and organisational tool and does not provide tax, legal, immigration or professional advice.

The App uses Apple Core Location services, including:

• Significant Location Changes
• Visit Monitoring

to periodically collect travel evidence and determine likely country presence.

This may include:

• approximate or precise geographic coordinates,
• timestamps associated with travel events,
• inferred country presence records,
• locally generated travel history evidence.

The App does not continuously poll GPS.

Country determination is performed locally on your device using offline country boundary data bundled with the App.

The App may allow you to:

• manually confirm travel days,
• correct inferred country presence,
• add or amend travel information.

These records are stored locally on your device.

The App may use Apple Face ID or device authentication systems to help protect access to your records.

Biometric information is processed by Apple and is not accessible to Scarlet Ridge Limited.

The App may use privacy-focused analytics or crash-reporting tools to improve reliability and functionality.

If enabled, these services may collect limited technical information such as:

• crash logs,
• device type,
• operating system version,
• anonymised usage events.

The App does not use advertising identifiers for behavioural advertising.

Information processed by the App is used solely to:

• maintain travel history evidence,
• calculate country presence records,
• calculate rolling day-count periods,
• improve app stability and functionality,
• secure access to app data.

We do not use your information for advertising profiling.

Travel history and associated records are stored locally on your device.

Scarlet Ridge Limited does not maintain a centralised cloud database of user travel histories.

We do not sell, rent or broker location histories.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share location histories with third parties except:

• where required by law,
• where necessary for technical infrastructure providers used for app functionality (such as crash reporting),
• or where you separately authorise disclosure.

The App may use third-party providers for:

• crash reporting,
• anonymised analytics,
• Apple App Store billing services.

These providers process only the minimum information necessary for their services.

The App may be used internationally, including in:

• the United Kingdom,
• United States,
• Canada,
• Australia,
• New Zealand,
• United Arab Emirates,
• Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
  and other jurisdictions.

Users remain responsible for complying with local laws and obtaining appropriate professional advice regarding residency or tax matters.

You may:

• disable location permissions,
• disable background location access,
• manually correct records,
• uninstall the App and delete locally stored data.

Disabling location access may materially reduce App functionality.

Because travel history is stored locally on your device, retention is controlled primarily by you.

If the App later introduces optional backup or synchronisation features, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed by the App.

However, no software or device security system can be guaranteed completely secure.

The App is not directed at children.

Tax Day Count does not provide:

• tax advice,
• legal advice,
• immigration advice,
• accounting advice,
• or professional services.

Calculations and country presence records may not reflect the legal interpretation of residency rules in any jurisdiction.

Users should obtain qualified professional advice before making decisions relating to tax residency, immigration or legal status.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

Updated versions will be made available through:

• the App,
• or the Scarlet Ridge Limited website.

Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
